Description
2021 Edition
This Standard is based on non-combustible construction including steel framing, steel roof cladding and non-combustible wall systems. This provides the basis for economical and robust solutions. It was developed following full scale bushfire simulation complemented by small scale tests and the application of fire engineering principles. It gives two solutions, one covering lower BAL’s (BAL-12.5, BAL-19, BAL-29 and BAL-40) and a separate solution for flame zone (BAL-FZ), based on AS 3959 BAL definitions.
This Standard is referenced in Volume Two of the National Construction Code as a deemed-to-satisfy solution.
