The National Council comprises the elected Chairpersons of each regional Chapter, the Immediate Past President, Invited Sponsor Councillors, an invited Fabricator Representative and the Executive Director. All positions except that of Executive Director are honorary and are confirmed by election at an Annual General Meeting.
NASH has five State Chapters (New South Wales, Victoria/Tasmania, Queensland, South Australia/Northern Territory and Western Australia).
NASH members operates under a Code of Ethics.

fabricator
Is a business that roll form and assembles or only assembles the steel frame
- Small (less that 175 tonnes or 75 houses per year)
- Medium (less that 1250 tonnes or 500 houses per year)
- Large (more than 1250 or 500 homes per year)

component supplier
Is a business that supplies components and materials eg. fasteners, steel sections, grommets, connection plates, plasterboard etc. to fabricators or to builders
